Our Mission
To allow each individual to achieve their full potential through the love of swimming; by developing the technical skills, character traits and intense desire necessary for the pursuit of excellence.
Who are the Barracudas?
We are a year round developmental swimming team.
Affiliated with USA swimming.
We are a team designed to meet the needs of novice through elite swimmers. This means that no matter ho slow or fast you are, there is a place for you with the Barracudas.
Teaches responsibility, time management, and respect for hard work. This means swimming their fastest times in their teens and beyond.
Who can join?
Anyone 6 years of age or older who can swim one length of the pool of both front and back crawl. We also have a swim school that is one of the best in the nation.
Our Coaching Staff.
Al Panec, The head coach, has a B.S. in chemistry and science from the University of Northern Iowa. Al leads the Barracudas with over 42 years of swimming and coaching experience.He swam for the University of Nebraska. He has also been to the Olympic Training Center to coach at camps where the next Olympic hopefuls are invited.
Seth Shepard, Age Group Coach has a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Seth has returned to the Barracudas after eight years in Phoenix. He was a five time Iowa High School State Champion in swimming for West High School. He swam for Iowa State University and competed at the NCAA National Championship meet.
